Mr. & Mrs. Nix | A Church Wedding

Micah's dress lay beautifully on the church door.

A Church Wedding

Since barns have come into style for wedding locations, not many couples have a church wedding anymore. Nowadays, you can choose from barns, plantation homes, vineyards, the possibilities are absolutely endless. While I love the ability to create an absolutely custom wedding theme and not go to the same venue twice, it’s really nice when you find a church wedding, much less one as beautiful as this.

Micah and Billy decided to have a church wedding. The pews, the altar, everything was set up in a church-like fashion, but there were a few rustic and modern details added to the venue. For example, the white outside of the church featured a clean, modern look. Large black lanterns decorated either side of the church door.

The church door was perhaps the most beautiful part, giving a rustic turquoise entrance to all who came into the church. The windows of the door and side panels were meticulously carved out to reveal a delicate cross-like pattern. On the top of the door, mirrored glass decorated three arches.

Of course, as unique as this church door was, we had to get a detail picture of it with the dress, as you see above.

Micah & Billy’s Wedding Day

To start off their wedding day, Micah and Billy got ready separately, waiting until the ceremony for the big reveal. The girls wore matching gowns while getting ready, making for a picture perfect moment.

After getting ready, Micah was ready to say “I Do.” She walked down the church aisle, meeting Billy at the end, and well, the rest is history.

Following the ceremony, we took family portraits, followed by bridal party and bride and groom portraits. We didn’t have to spend too much time on their separate portraits, as we had done Micah’s bridal session before their wedding day.

For their portraits, we wandered around the church yard, finding a pleasant little path to take portraits in, as well as an open field. The sun glowed as we took portraits, and then we proceeded to go inside for their reception.

At the reception, Billy & Micah enjoyed their first dances, and of course the cake! They ended their evening with a sparkler exit given by all of their family and friends.

Thank you, Billy & Micah, for having me in your best day ever. Congratulations!!
