Daylee & Thomas | Our Urban & Rural 2-Part Engagement Session

Daylee and Thomas relax amongst the vineyard.

It started with a vineyard…

If this vineyard above looks familiar than you’re right! You’ve probably seen it in other engagement sessions. But hey, guess what? It’s still pretty.

Daylee and Thomas decided to start their 2-part engagement session in the vineyard. I mean, I don’t blame them. It is absolutely gorgeous.

For their session, they wore a color that would stand out, as I always recommend to my couples. They chose to both wear white in their outfits and keep it natural by going barefoot. The white stood out beautifully among the dark green of the vineyard that was in the background.

Speaking of dark green backgrounds, we also used this little trellis walkway that was inside the vineyard. Under the trellis, the couple went in for a kiss, and the ivy and that was on the walls contrasted them perfectly. As they stood in the path under the trellis, they glowed in white, surrounded by deep greens and the natural wooden color of the trellis beams.

Daylee chose to wear a chiffon dress with ruffles and off the shoulder sleeves. Thomas looked like a fairy-tale prince to complete the look, wearing a white shirt with khaki pants. The photo above reminds me so much of a fairy-tale couple you would see in the movies.

Our Urban Second Half of the Session

Though we started out with a magical feeling in the vineyards, we moved into the city for the second part of the session.

We used different parts of the city, and we actually decided on a few different outfits as well. For the last outfit, the couple chose a very city-street look, with Thomas sporting a long sleeve shirt and jeans, and Daylee sporting a sweater, jean shorts, and black leggings. They topped off the outfit with a more formal choice for shoes, including heeled booties for Daylee, and dress shoes for Thomas.

As we explored the area, we went to the top of a local parking garage and decided to do a few portraits there as well. The lighting was perfect, and the couple’s outfits popped against the solid gray background.

Daylee sported a cute tan hat with a maroon jumpsuit and Thomas, a dress shirt and jeans. This rustic backdrop provided the perfect contrast for a formal outfit choice.

Through our 2-part engagement session, we had the opportunity to explore downtown as well as the vineyards in the country. I thoroughly enjoyed adventuring to find the perfect locations, even those that you may look at during a session and say, “A parking garage? Are you sure?”

As always, the couple was fantastic and I’m happy we got to work our magic! To make magic or schedule our 2-part engagement session, I’d love to talk to you more.
