Why Have a Bridal Session? | Micah’s Bridals

Why a Bridal Session?

Bridal sessions are becoming very popular in the wedding industry. Why? If you haven’t considered a bridal session for your wedding, I would highly suggest it. Scrolling through my various bridal sessions on my website, you probably get a hint of what they are.

Bridal sessions are pictures of the bride herself. She is dressed up in her dress, with her bouquet and veil, just as if it was her wedding day. The huge difference is that these pictures are not taken on the wedding day itself, but rather before the wedding day.

So why have a bridal session separately? Many couples are concerned about portraits taking longer on their wedding day and having guests wait. A session before the wedding allows the bride to have her portraits done beforehand. This makes the day of her wedding shorter for portraits, thus giving the couple more time with their family and friends.

Bridals are also a great idea if you want to run through the steps of your wedding day. Through bridal sessions, the bride actually has the opportunity to see how long it takes to get her makeup done, her dress on, and all of her details ready. This helps plan out the timeline and finalize her look for her big day.

Through her bridal session, we actually had the opportunity to go into the venue itself and take pictures there. I just love how rustic the look of this venue is, with its mixture of rustic blue doors and white siding featuring large lanterns.

Micah’s dress featured a top with beading and elegant scrolls, a simple rhinestone belt, and a flowing mermaid lace bottom. The veil was long and actually matched the length of her dress, covering her and giving her the ability to show off her veil separately, as you see it flowing in the wind below.

This gorgeous bride chose maroon and ivory as her bouquet colors, surrounded by greenery. This elegant bouquet gave all of our pictures a pop and made the rustic turquoise doors of the church stand out.

Overall, through Micah’s session we had the opportunity to explore the venue and get portraits of herself. She also had the opportunity to practice her wedding day look. If you would like this same opportunity, I’d love to help you prepare for your big day.

Until next time!
