Veton + Morgan

As you can probably see from scrolling through our country fairytale engagement portraits below, Veton and Morgan were an absolute dream to work with. Sometimes when we do engagement sessions, we do simpler sessions for couples who just want a few pictures before the wedding.

I was so excited when this couple told me that they wanted a country fairytale engagement session, including many, many pictures that captured their love. From the multiple poses, to the pictures below where the couple was just being themselves, this engagement session is one for the storybooks.

Through our session, we ensured that we had plenty of time to explore the land and capture multiple locations, outfits, emotions, and poses. When we were trying to come up with a design concept for the session, the couple knew they wanted something different than any couple has done with me before. They wanted to embrace their country sides, but also do a lighter, more whimsical theme as well.

In this, we came up with a country fairytale engagement session.

How We Combined Country + Fairytale into a Dream Engagement Session

Now when you think of country, you probably think of plaid, jeans, and boots. As you can see from the first part of this session, the session did not begin that way. However, about halfway through the session, we decided to take a break from a completely whimsical feel and do a few portraits with plaid, blue jeans, and boots.

Picking out a location served as a challenge as well. We needed something that we would use for both country and whimsical. Of course, the outfits that the couple brought with them helped immensely as well.

We found a location that had open fields decorated with string lights. They even had a wooden arch which matched our country theme, decorated with a chiffon linen, giving it a whimsical look. Just like that, our theme of country and fairytale was tied into one session.

As you can see below, the couple brought a numerous number of outfits with them, including a gorgeous blue maxi dress, a white maxi dress, and a plaid shirt.
